A Tale of Creativity and Wonder

The Artist and The Wren” is a delightful and whimsical children’s book inspired by a true story! One day, Jonathan Howe, a talented local artist from Knoxville, Tennessee, discovered a surprise visitor in his home studio. A curious Carolina Wren had squeezed through a small hole at the base of his studio door. The adventurous little bird landed in Jonathan’s palette of paints, leaving a trail of colorful footprints all over his studio.

The wren eventually found its way back outside, but its artistic exploration left a memorable mark. When Hannah McConnell, Jonathan’s sister-in-law, visited later that day, Jonathan’s daughters eagerly shared the tale of their unexpected guest. They showed her the vivid paint tracks still decorating the studio. Inspired by the story, Hannah knew it had to be turned into a children’s book and began writing it that very day.

“The Artist and The Wren” captures the magic of imagination and the beauty of the natural world. It’s a story that encourages readers to embrace creativity, explore their surroundings, and find wonder in the everyday miracles of God’s creation.
